historiography, political science, & economic science |
The first six party paradigms (often called party systems) in American politics have been historiographically delineated with each two of them spanning approximately 75 years and with the transition to each successive one transpiring over as much as a decade or more: |
• |
• |
• |
the first congress and president taking office in 1789; |
the transition from the 2nd to 3rd party paradigms culminating by about 1864; |
the transition from the 4th to 5th party paradigms culminating by about 1939. |
The Fuller Knowledge Alliance has initiated the development of a study framework that encompasses further delineating the periodicity and discerning the historiographic pattern elements, along with formulating inquiry methods and inference mechanisms, as well as multi-dimensional political ideology modeling, which brings into consideration, in addition to the single dimension of |
left and right (liberalism and conservatism), |
further dimensions that might be discovered to include, for example: |
• |
• |
• |
• |
• |
• |
• |
• |
• |
• |
• |
• |
• |
• |
• |
heavy and light (authoritarianism and libertarianism), |
big and little (democracism and autocracism), |
broad and narrow (populism and elitism), |
off and on (anarchism and archism), |
up and down (antidisresponsibilitarianism and disresponsibilitarianism), |
flat and slanted (egalitarianism and favoritism), |
flowing and stagnant (socialism and antisocialism), |
shiny and shadowy (patriotism and profiteerism), |
in and out (preservationism and plunderism), |
grabby and satiable (avaricism and antiavaricism), |
bossy and modest (imperialism and antiimperialism), |
entangling and untangling (hegemonism and antihegemonism), |
brawly and calm (militarism and antimilitarism), |
aloof and cordial (isolationism and engagism), |
or |
hot and cold (adherentism and pragmatism). |
In order to help individuals research, explore, discover, and better understand the transition that would be anticipated to have culminated by about 2014, this framework is to be applied to the study of the rise of the seventh party paradigm, exemplified by the empirically growing antiliberal, anticonservative, antimoderate stance of the mass of Americans and their apparent great revulsion with and rejection of what the majority of Americans seem to perceive to be the long-held disresponsibilitarian ideology expressed by liberalism, by conservatism, by moderatism, and by the two major parties, and the American electorate's evidently overwhelming adoption of and adherence to antidisresponsibilitarianism, and the electorate's reputed strong opposition to the actions of the major parties that the majority of Americans apparently perceive as being aimed at destroying the middle class and upper middle class and at reducing the nation to becoming a banana republic with only peasantry and serfdom for all but the top 1% of the top 1%. |
