| The Fuller Knowledge Alliance oversees the design and development of the whole planet earth clock™ (first in the whole planet clock™ series) with which one can watch the whole planet turn, can at a glance tell the time in all the 39 different time zones (with indication of both northern- and southern-hemisphere daylight-savings times in addition to standard time and also of all hourly, half-hourly, and three-quarter-hourly UTC offsets), can instantly see the relationship of time and place, as the planet itself comprises the 39 hour hands, and can intuitively see the differences in time (and day) among different locations on the planet. | The Fuller Knowledge Alliance has initiated the design and development of the earth wobble clock™ (a planet wobble clock™ or precession clock™), which goes around once each Platonic Year, also referred to as the Great Year. This is one complete cycle of the precession of the equinoxes around the ecliptic and is currently thought to be about 25,770 years. There are of course stars other than Cynosura (currently called "Polaris") that will be the "north star" during this cycle, and some of them are brighter. But of those stars that will come within one degree of true north, none is brighter than Polaris (our current north star). And it will reach its closest to north (less than half a degree off) in February 2102 (coming even closer to apparent north, when taking into account the affects of nutation and aberration, on the 24th of March 2100), so this would seem an ideal point to set as the ending of one of and the starting of another of the epochs of the precession clock™. |
